In QuickBooks Online, if you want to ensure that all your transactions have images (i.e. receipts) attached to them, there’s a few ways that you can create a report.
- Expenses Transactions List
Left navigation tab > Expenses, then click the gear icon just above the grid that shows the list of transactions. Within that dropdown menu, click More… then select the Attachments checkbox.
The transactions grid will now show a column that has a heading of a paperclip icon. The numeric value in that field represents how many attachments are attached to that transaction. If the field is blank, there are no attachments.
You can print or download the report. If you download the report into Excel, format it into a table, then you can filter the list to only show rows that do not contain blanks in that column. Unfortunately, this report does not contain a Source Account field, so that you can tell from what account (bank account or credit card) that this transaction originated from. - GL Account Register Report
Left navigation tab > Accounting > Chart of Accounts, then click the gear icon just above the grid, and select View Register for the desired account.
Select the Gear icon above the register grid, then select the Attachments checkbox. The transactions grid will now show a column that has a heading of a paperclip icon. The numeric value in that field represents how many attachments are attached to that transaction. If the field is blank, there are no attachments.
You can print or download the report. If you download the report into Excel, format it into a table, then you can filter the list to only show rows that do not contain blanks in that column and also filter by a data range. - Bank Feeds after matching imported transactions
Once bank feeds have been matched for imported transactions with images, the remaining transactions must be missing. You can print or download the report. If you download the report into Excel, you can exclude the transactions newer than a certain date (ie statement period ending date).
