QBO Online Bill Pay Quirks and tips for adding users

QuickBooks Online Bill Pay is a fast and easy way to save time on the front-end and back-end of the accounting cycle.

There are some quirks you should be aware of:

  1. You have usually signed up for a trial subscription. When it ends, you must subscribe. Subscribe by QBO > Gear icon > Account & Settings > Bill Pay > click the Subscribe button or link.
  2. When adding additional users. Once added, those additional additional users FIRST must accept the terms of service of being added to the bank account before any other steps can be successfully completed.
    To complete: QBO > Gear icon > Account & Settings > Bill Pay > Bank Accounts. Accept the Terms of Service.
  3. User has to pass KBA (knowledge based authentication) by going to + > Pay Bills Online and answer questions about their identity.
  4. Within a couple of business banking days after completing the terms of service, a couple of random deposits will credit the company’s bank account. Then the user will need to enter those values into the + > Pay Bills Online > Verify now link. When that step has been completed, the user can pay bills.
