When QuickBooks Online (QBO) misbehaves and throws some strange error message, a first step in troubleshooting is to clear your browser’s cookies. You might be thinking, oh no, all my other web sites will require passwords and two factor authentication codes now. If you follow our steps below, you can just clear the cookies only associated with QBO. Here’s how…
If you are on Windows 10 using Chrome browser Version 79.0.3945.130 (Official Build) (64-bit):
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner.
- Click Settings > Advanced (in the left side navigation)
- Click Privacy & Security (in the left side navigation)
- Click Site Settings (within the box of Privacy & Security in the middle)
- Click Cookies & Site data
- Click See all cookies and site data
- Type Intuit into the Search cookies text field (in the upper left)
- Verify that only sites are ones affiliated with Intuit, if so, proceed with next step.
- Click Remove All Shown button (under the search field)
- Close all browser windows before trying QBO again.
Other browsers on other platforms may support similar functionality, so you may need to look around if you are not on the specified platform.
